Hi Harvey,
There are actually two editions of "How to Make Profits in Commodities" from 1951. This was the year that W.D. sold his business to his partner Ed Lambert. The earlier edition you have does not have the forecast in the charts-but the later 1951 edition does. Other differences in the books are: the color of the book covers (blue and purple) and the advertising page in the back of the book differs. These books are getting harder and harder to find, but if you search-you will find two different 1951 editions. The forecasts were done by W.D. Gann as part of the deal with Ed Lambert.
Happy Hunting,

In the blog post you state:

---------------------------------------------------------------------------
On June 6th 1951 “How to Make Profits in Commodities” was published.

A careful comparison of the two editions shows up some very interesting changes. For example, why are the charts on pages 359 to 366 revised and showing swings long past W.D Gann’s publication date of 1951 and his death in 1955?

He was clearly making Forecasts using an EPHEMERIS.
---------------------------------------------------------------------------

I assume the "two editions" referred to are the original first edition (1941) and the revised second edition (1951). In this case, the charts on pages 359 to 366 are brand new to the 1951 edition. On the other hand, if the "two editions" refers to the 1951 revised edition and a later reprint of the same edition (such as 1976), then it's a matter of why the later 1976 and following reprints differ from the original 1951 edition.

I have a copy of the original 1951 book, as well as the newer 1976 (white dust jacket) and 2009 (orange dust jacket) reprint editions. The chart revisions mentioned are NOT in the original 1951 book. Perhaps they were added by Gann in his personal copy or by Ed Lambert as updates to the original charts as published in 1951, but no evidence is given as to where and when the additions originated.

In any case, the chart revisions appear in the reprint editions only and NOT in the original, which brings the chart revisions into question as to their authenticity. Without proof of such authenticity, the conclusion ("He was clearly making Forecasts using an EPHEMERIS") does not follow, because the chart revisions could have been added by someone after the fact--hardly being a forecast.
